Can I mark up and edit images in Hive?

Mark up an image

On iPad, open an image and draw on it with Apple Pencil. It's the quickest way to circle the detail you mean or sketch a change over a reference before a review. Markup works on WebP images too. Later you can filter the library to show only images with markup, and save that filter as a Smart Folder.

Crop, rotate, and flip

Basic editing is built in, so you don't need another app to straighten a photo of a sample or trim a screenshot down to the part that matters. A quick horizontal flip is also available with a long press in the detail view, which illustrators use to check proportions.

Stitch images together

Select several images and stitch them into one. You can stitch them in a row or arrange them as a grid collage, change their order, and export the result as a PNG with a transparent background. Stitching is also available in Import Center, for the times when a post's images belong together as one reference.

Thumbnails and covers

If the automatic thumbnail doesn't show the useful part of a file, create a custom one, crop it, or edit an existing one. You can regenerate thumbnails from the originals at any time. A folder's cover can be set from any image inside it.

Lift a subject

Subject Lifting separates the main subject of an image from its background, in the detail view. It's useful for pulling a product or a figure out of a photo to use elsewhere.

Save a frame from a video

While a video is playing, you can capture the current frame and save it as an image, or use it as the video's cover.
