Which platforms does Hive support?

Three native apps

Hive on iPhone is built for saving: you're usually holding the phone when you find something. Hive on iPad is built for looking through what you saved, comparing images side by side, and showing a set to someone else. Hive for Mac is a native macOS app, so it handles a large library with a mouse and keyboard the way a desktop app should.

You don't have to own all three. Hive works on any one of them, and you can add another device later without starting over.

What you need

On iPhone, Hive needs iOS 18.0 or later. On iPad, it needs iPadOS 18.0 or later. On Mac, it needs macOS 26.0 or later and Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs aren't supported. Install Hive from the App Store and keep both the app and the system up to date, because new formats and fixes arrive in updates.

If you keep an Eagle library in iCloud Drive and open it from iPhone or iPad, iOS 18 or later is also what the App Store listing requires, and files stay downloaded more reliably on those versions.

Do I need Pro to use the Mac app?

No. Hive for Mac opens with the free version. Pro is the same on every device: it adds sync across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, more libraries, the full Smart Folders feature, Eagle import, libraries on an external SSD, and export on Mac. One purchase covers all three devices on the same Apple Account.

What Hive doesn't run on

There's no Android or Windows version, and neither is planned. If your reference library lives on a Windows PC, you can still copy the library folder to an iPhone or iPad and open it in Hive.
