How do I import an Eagle library into Hive?
With Pro, Hive imports Eagle libraries and Eagle Pack files. Folders, tags, and the items themselves come across, and the Eagle library on your computer stays as it is.
Two ways to bring Eagle material in
You can import a whole Eagle library, or import an Eagle Pack, which is the file Eagle creates when you export a folder. Importing is a Pro feature.
Before you import
A little preparation saves time.
- Make sure the Eagle library folder is complete, with its structure unchanged.
- If the folder is in iCloud Drive, turn on Keep Downloaded and wait for the files to finish downloading.
- Keep Hive open and in front during a large import.
Connect instead of importing
If you'd like Hive to work on the Eagle library folder directly, connect to it from the guide in the Library view's toolbar. This suits people who keep one library and open it from both apps at different times.
What "compatible" means
Hive reads and writes a library structure that Eagle understands, so a folder can pass between the two. It doesn't mean the apps are related. Hive is a separate product, and Eagle remains the better choice for some desktop work, such as plugins and a wider range of design file types.
