Hive for HarmonyOS
1. Overview
Hive is designed around local storage. Your imported media, folders, tags, notes, ratings, and other library data are stored on this device by default. If you enable Huawei Cloud Sync, Hive copies the data required for synchronization to Huawei Cloud.
2. Local Data
Hive processes previews, thumbnails, metadata, search, filters, and organization on your device. Hive does not upload your library for advertising or product analytics.
3. Features That Use the Network
Network access occurs when you enable Huawei Cloud Sync, import from a public link, open an external website, purchase or restore Hive Pro, sign in to claim or restore a gift, use a promotional offer, or send feedback. Link import sends the link you provide to the relevant public content service. Huawei IAP Kit processes product, order, and subscription status for purchases and restoration.
HUAWEI Account Kit sign-in requests only OpenID/UnionID identifiers and a one-time authorization code, not your phone number, nickname, or profile photo. Our server forwards the authorization code over TLS only to Huawei to exchange it for tokens. Raw authorization codes and access, ID, and refresh tokens are not logged or stored persistently.
For account and gift services, the server stores an HMAC-derived account identifier, a hash of the Hive session token, redemption records, and entitlement type, start, and end dates. Raw OpenID/UnionID values are not stored in the database. Rate limiting uses a hash derived from the IP address. IAP offer verification stores the order ID, product and offer identifiers, amount, time, receipt digest, and a hash of the installation identifier. These sign-in, gift, and offer services do not upload library content.
4. Clipboard and Sharing
Hive reads clipboard content only when you choose a paste or import action. Content shared to Hive through HarmonyOS is processed only to complete the import you requested.
5. Third-Party Services
Huawei provides device, system sharing, in-app payment, account sign-in, and optional cloud services. Public content platforms and your email provider process requests you initiate under their own privacy policies.
Optional gift sign-in, redemption, restoration, and promotional purchase verification use Vercel Inc. compute in Singapore and the Neon service (Neon, LLC / Databricks, Inc.) on AWS Singapore. Data is transmitted over HTTPS for account verification, entitlement restoration, offer signing, order reconciliation, and abuse prevention. The processed data includes a one-time Huawei authorization code and account identifiers during verification, HMAC-derived account identifiers, session-token hashes, gift records, installation identifiers, purchase receipts and order details, and IP addresses used to derive rate-limit hashes. Library content is not uploaded. Before gift sign-in or an offer purchase, Hive requests separate consent for this processing outside Mainland China. Declining leaves ordinary local features and regular Huawei purchases available. Contact feedback@hive.ink to request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal; identify the service and request without sending a password or token. Provider privacy contacts: Vercel, privacy@vercel.com; Neon/Databricks, privacy@databricks.com. Provider notices: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-notice and https://neon.com/privacy-policy.
6. Retention, Deletion, and Security
You control local content through Hive and device storage. Items remain in Trash until you restore or permanently delete them. You can disable cloud sync in Settings and manage cloud data through Huawei services. Hive uses device security and HTTPS for supported network operations.
Gift access uses an offline verification credential valid for up to 24 hours and requires periodic online verification. Signing out clears the Hive account session and the gift cache on the current device. It does not revoke authorization for your system HUAWEI ID or delete server-side entitlements retained for restoration across devices. To request deletion of these records, contact feedback@hive.ink.
7. Contact and Changes
Hive is provided by Guangzhou Benli Technology Co., Ltd, which is responsible for the related processing of personal information. We may update this policy when features, services, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. For privacy questions, contact feedback@hive.ink.
